Hi, I’m Cynthia, the heart and hands behind Blossom and Blaze Floral.
Blossom and Blaze Floral is a studio rooted in wild, seasonal beauty and expressive floral storytelling. I create florals that feel alive, layered with movement, texture, and emotion, designed to bring presence and meaning to the spaces and moments they inhabit.
At its core, this work is about connection: to nature, to season, and to the quiet language flowers speak when you slow down enough to notice.
A life shaped by flowers
I’ve always been drawn to flowers.
As a child, I would gather small posies for my teachers each week, instinctively reaching for colour, scent, and form as a way of expressing care. Growing up surrounded by gardens, fabric, and colour, I learned early that beauty is a language in itself. Flowers, especially, have a way of saying what words often cannot. They comfort, celebrate, soften, and transform.
That quiet understanding has stayed with me.
With a background in visual arts and a lifelong sensitivity to colour, texture, and composition, I approach floristry as an art form. Each stem is considered. Each arrangement is guided by intuition and shaped by what the season offers freely.
Wild, seasonal, expressive
I am drawn to the untamed rhythm of nature. The irregular curve of foliage, the softness of petals, the shifting tones of light as seasons move through the year.
Blossom and Blaze Floral is built around this philosophy: that flowers are most powerful when they are allowed to feel natural, expressive, and unforced.
Sustainability is not an add-on, but a foundation of the studio. I work with local and seasonal blooms wherever possible, avoid floral foam, and design with care and intention so that each piece honours both beauty and environment.

From education to floristry
Alongside my floral practice, I bring more than 30 years of experience in education and leadership as a teacher, visual arts educator, and Deputy Principal.
That background continues to shape how I work today.
Whether I’m guiding someone through their first floral arrangement or supporting a bride who wants to create her own wedding flowers, teaching has always been at the heart of what I do. I believe creativity is something everyone can access. Sometimes it just needs the right environment to unfold.
